Home Remodeling in Redmond, WA

When your home no longer fits the way you live, NorthLight helps you plan the right changes and then builds them. As a remodeling, design-build, and construction company, we handle design, pricing, and construction for Redmond homeowners with one team.

Planning a Remodel Around How You Live

Redmond is part of NorthLight’s established Eastside service area, alongside Bellevue, Kirkland, and Woodinville. Since 2014, NorthLight Custom Builders has worked with homeowners across King and Snohomish Counties as a remodeling, design-build, and construction company. See every community we cover on our Areas We Serve page.

Many remodels begin with a simple observation: the house worked once, but it no longer matches daily life. The kitchen may be too tight for the way you cook, a bathroom may need to be safer or more comfortable, or the floor plan may not support how your household spends time together. Our job is to understand those priorities first and then plan a remodel that addresses them.

That is why NorthLight puts so much weight on planning. Layout, engineering needs, selections, and pricing are worked out during pre-construction, so you know what will be built and what it will cost before construction begins.

Remodeling Services for Redmond Homes

Most projects touch more than one of these services. Because NorthLight plans them together, a kitchen update that also needs new lighting, or a bathroom that should stay accessible for the long term, is designed as one coordinated project.

Kitchen Remodeling

If your kitchen is cramped, dated, or hard to work in, we start by looking at how you cook and gather, then plan layout, storage, cabinetry, counters, and lighting around those habits.

Bathroom Remodeling

Primary, guest, and family bathrooms planned for daily routines, with attention to layout, storage, tile, and fixtures, and the option to build in accessibility features from the start.

Whole-Home Remodeling

When the issue is the whole floor plan rather than one room, we look at how spaces connect and plan the changes as a single project instead of a string of separate remodels.

Additions

If the right answer is more space, we plan an addition that works with your existing home and review zoning and building code considerations during pre-construction.

ADUs + DADUs

An attached ADU or detached DADU can create room for family members, adult children, a home office, or a rental unit. We confirm early whether your property can support one.

Aging in Place

Zero-threshold showers, grab bars, wider doorways, lever handles, and level transitions, designed to blend into your home so it stays comfortable as your needs change.

Design-Build

The framework behind every NorthLight project: one contract, one team, and a fixed-price Construction Agreement once planning is complete.

Outdoor Living

Decks and outdoor spaces can be planned alongside interior work when they are part of how you want to use your home.

A Planning-First Design-Build Process

NorthLight’s framework is Develop → Design → Construct → Complete. If you are rethinking how your home works, the first two stages matter most, because that is where the plan, selections, and price are settled.

Develop

We start with an introductory meeting about your goals and budget, then work with you onsite: detailed measurements, conversations about how you use each space, and a layout that confirms whether plumbing, electrical, or walls need to move.

Design

Our team determines whether engineering, architectural input, or permits are needed, prepares concept layouts, and helps with selections such as flooring, fixtures, and cabinetry. Choosing finishes at this stage lets us price the project accurately, and three budget checks lead to a fixed-price Construction Agreement.

Construct

Your Project Developer and Lead Carpenter carry the plan into construction. Buildertrend, our project software, shows the timeline and updates and gives you a place to ask questions.

Complete

A final walkthrough confirms the finished work. Your 12-month workmanship warranty includes a follow-up 10 to 11 months after completion to take care of minor adjustments.

Redmond Remodeling Questions

  • Yes. Redmond is one of the Eastside communities NorthLight serves, together with Bellevue, Kirkland, and Woodinville. Our broader service area covers North King County, South Snohomish County, and the Eastside. Contact us if you would like to confirm your address.

  • Start with an introductory meeting. We will talk about what is not working, how you use your home, and your budget, and provide an estimate so you can decide whether NorthLight is the right fit. From there, pre-construction turns those priorities into a layout and a plan.

  • Pre-construction is where NorthLight gathers what it needs to give you an accurate, fixed price. You work with a team from Sales, Design, and Project Development to confirm the layout, identify any engineering, architectural, or permit needs, make selections, and gather exact quotes from trade partners.

  • Because design is not its only purpose. The agreement gives NorthLight the time and resources to work through your project with you and produce a complete, fixed-price Construction Agreement.

  • Selections are the finishes and fixtures in your remodel, such as flooring, lighting, faucets, cabinetry, and paint colors. Making them before construction lets NorthLight price the project accurately, and some choices affect the work itself, such as plumbing or wiring. Our in-house design specialists help at every step.

  • Yes. NorthLight’s aging-in-place remodeling includes updates such as zero-threshold showers, grab bars, non-slip flooring, wider doorways, and lever handles, designed to fit your home’s style rather than look clinical.

  • Pricing comes together in steps. You receive an estimate at your introductory meeting. During pre-construction, NorthLight gathers exact quotes from trade partners and runs three budget checks as your layout and selections are finalized. The result is a fixed-price Construction Agreement, signed before construction begins.
