Home Remodeling in Snohomish, WA
NorthLight helps Snohomish homeowners make long-term improvements to the home they have: more functional kitchens and baths, additions, ADUs and DADUs, and outdoor spaces that connect to the rooms inside.
Long-Term Improvements for Your Snohomish Home
Snohomish is part of NorthLight’s South Snohomish County service area. Our office is in Mukilteo, and we have worked with homeowners across King and Snohomish Counties since 2014. Visit Areas We Serve to see the other communities we cover.
Some remodels fix one room. Others are about how the property will serve you for the next decade or longer: a second living space for a family member, an addition that relieves a crowded floor plan, or a deck that turns the backyard into usable space. NorthLight helps you weigh those options, then designs, prices, and builds the one that makes sense.
Because the same team plans and builds the work, you get one contract and a fixed-price Construction Agreement before construction begins.
Services for Snohomish Homeowners
ADUs + DADUs
An attached ADU built as an addition, or a detached DADU built as a separate structure, can house a relative, an adult child, a home office, or a rental. Whether your lot can support one depends on zoning and building code requirements, which we review at the start. ADUs and DADUs
Additions
Extra square footage for a larger kitchen, a bedroom, or a primary suite, designed to fit the existing house.
Outdoor Living
Decks and outdoor spaces planned together with the rooms that open onto them, so indoor and outdoor living work as one. Outdoor living
Kitchens and Bathrooms
Function-first updates: better work areas and storage in the kitchen, and bathrooms with layouts and fixtures suited to daily routines.
Whole-Home Remodeling and Aging in Place
Larger interior projects can be planned as one whole-home remodel, and aging-in-place features such as zero-threshold showers and wider doorways can be included so the home keeps working as needs change.
All of it runs through our design-build process. See our full list of services.
How a Larger Project Comes Together
Projects like ADUs and additions involve more early decisions than a single-room remodel. NorthLight’s four stages are set up to work through those decisions before construction starts.
Develop
After an introductory meeting and estimate, we visit the property, take detailed measurements, and confirm a layout with you.
Design
We determine whether engineering, architectural input, or permits are needed and review zoning and building code requirements. Selections, exact trade partner quotes, and three budget checks lead to a fixed-price Construction Agreement.
Construct
NorthLight submits permit applications once your Construction Agreement is approved, or earlier when that helps avoid delaying your start. Your Lead Carpenter runs the jobsite, and Buildertrend shows progress and updates.
Complete
A final walkthrough wraps up construction. Your 12-month workmanship warranty then begins, and we reach out 10 to 11 months later to take care of minor adjustments.

Snohomish Remodeling Questions
-
Yes. Snohomish is within NorthLight’s South Snohomish County service area, and our office is in Mukilteo. Contact us if you would like to confirm your address.
-
It depends on your property. Zoning and building code requirements play a big role, so NorthLight reviews them early to help determine whether an ADU or DADU is the right fit. Homeowners use them for family members, adult children, home offices, and rental units.
-
An ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) can be built as an addition to your existing home. A DADU (Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit) is built as a separate structure on your property. NorthLight designs and builds both.
-
Yes. Outdoor living projects such as decks can be designed, budgeted, and scheduled together with interior work, so the rooms that open to the outside and the space beyond them are planned as one project.
-
NorthLight determines whether engineering or architectural input is needed during the Design stage and coordinates it as part of the project, so you are not hiring and managing those professionals separately.
-
Aging-in-place features such as zero-threshold showers, grab bars, wider doorways, and level floor transitions can be built into a kitchen, bathroom, or whole-home remodel. Members of our team hold aging-in-place remodeling certifications.
